Yes, taxes are heavy here, as much as 75 percent. And the King demands and gets a Royal Fifth of any treasures found by adventurers. Which can mean as much as two-thirds of the treasure found.
But the subjects are cared for, even in infirmity.
The constant fog, rain, and clouds is a puzzle. Too much of it to be explained by the cold and warm currant meeting off shore. And powerful spell casters who dissipate the clouds have disappeared… so, try to only clear your local area.
